A precision gas block assembly design by Dave Lauck which offers solutions and benefits to the AR-15 rifle and carbine system. This heavy duty steel multipurpose assembly allows for a flip up, flip down front sight tower which locks in the up and down positions. Flipping the sight up allows for iron sight use with a conventional rear, or forward mounted rear sight. Locking the front sight tower down allows for use of magnifying optics without a visible iron sight shadow in the optical sight picture. |
|
The flip up front sight tower accepts commonly available front sight posts, or the D&L Sports™ heavy duty blade sight. Once the front sight is adjusted for the correct elevation, this tower design allows the sight to be locked in place. No more wobble, no more unauthorized adjustments. |

The protective structure around the front sight blade was designed to serve as a close range, large target Halo Sight for the ultimate in iron sight speed. The rounded protective structure also allows the shooter to immediately locate the front sight blade when more precisely aimed iron sight shots are called for. The protective ears on conventional iron sights are so close to straight that they can be mistaken for the primary front sight blade during high speed iron sight shooting. This mistake will of course dramatically affect the bullets point of impact. The rounded protective structure on the D&L sight is so different in shape from the front sight blade that there will be no sighting confusion, even at high speed. |

The multipurpose gas block attaches to lightweight barrels (.625") and to medium weight barrels (.750") by means of snugly encircling the barrel, then clamping in place with multiple 6 O'clock cross bolts. This assures a superior gas seal. No more gas leaks and the problems associated with gas leakage. No more wedge pins or conventional cross pin problems. |
